If you use the Level-80 Boost to advance your character to max level, you won’t get the level-up rewards you would have earned from normal leveling. That said, the package of rewards from consuming the boost is much more valuable than the normal level-up rewards. There's a "trial mode" in the L80 boost which is pretty much what you think it is. You can cancel the trial after playing around with the class, or choose to keep your character the way it is. So try out both guard/rev if you want to. Probably elementalist or necromancer, your call though. The one you like playing the most. As someone said previously, you might get overwhelmed with the amount of skills, and builds. Take your time and develop your own playstyle. You can always start a new character and use the insta level 80 on it. One thing you can do is create characters and use the L80 Boost to try them out in The Silverwastes. I picked up HoT and figured I'd get back into the game recently, and I got a token for a level 80 boost. I wanted to know if I should use the boost now, or if it's important for whatever reason that I go through the 1-80 experience. Yes to both. :) This is not well-explained in the game itself, but using the token does not consume it. The best profession to skip the "classic" leveling on would be mesmer, however mesmer is a tricky profession and it might be hard to understand it if you simply jump to lvl 80 with it. Then you might get bored of it and ignore it, or delete it and start a new mesmer to lvl it properlywasting your booster. The game doesn't begin at 80. In fact going by sheer number of zones, hearts, vistas, events, etc., the 1-80 game is still probably bigger than the 80 content combined. But to answer your question, the trading post or karma merchants in the Orr zones. If you "know the basics", you should know what stats to gear a level 80 character with. Instead type "Zhed". If you mostly play alone on your reaper I suggest a gear set that brings you to 67% crit chance so that when you enter shroud you have 100%. Here is one example. Look at the gear tab. The build that is linked there is also extremly good as it gives you extended shroud duration. Is there any other reason that we shouldn't create a new character and use the Level 80 boost prior to the release of EoD? I'm not asking for specific spoilers, just if we should hold off using it or if it's ok to go ahead an create the new character. Vay Tiền Nhanh Ggads.
